Advent Blog 2006 is Now Open!

Advent Blog 2006 is now open! Boar’s Head Tavern fellows and friends are welcome to get the keys and blog on ADVENT THEMES for the encouragement and enjoyment of our readers.

If you need to “brush up” on Advent as part of the Christian calendar and as a season of worship, go to Mark Roberts’ outstanding collection of posts giving a complete introduction to Advent.

If your church doesn’t recognize Advent or the Christian Calendar, I recommend an excellent short essay by Douglas Wilson on the value of the Christian year.

  2. I’m not a regular around here. But the opening announcement on internetmonk caught my eye as it flashed past in my overloaded feed reader. We were just home from our Sunday gathering, where I did the talk this time. So I took the liberty of posting the above trackback to my notes for a talk on Advent 1.

  3. Looking forward to this, thanks. I really enjoyed the Buechner quote this morning.

We’re doing something similar on Lent & Beyond. We’ll be having a number of contributions from other Anglican / Episcopal bloggers.

A blessed Advent to you all!
